Duval County, FL property tax exemptions (2026)
The property tax breaks that are set or run locally in Duval County, on top of Florida’s statewide rules: what each is worth here, who qualifies, where to apply and the deadline.
What is different in Duval County
Duval County (the consolidated City of Jacksonville) gives both optional senior exemptions: up to $50,000 for low-income seniors 65+, and, since 2014, a long-term resident exemption that removes the City of Jacksonville tax on homes under $250,000 owned by seniors with 25+ years in the home. Both renew automatically; the Property Appraiser mails a card each year. Florida DOR data also show senior exemption value on the city rolls of Atlantic Beach, Jacksonville Beach, Neptune Beach and Baldwin, but the Property Appraiser does not list their amounts, so residents there should ask the office what applies to their city taxes.
