Privacy policy
Last updated: October 23, 2026
This policy explains what happens to information when you use Exemption Map (exemptionmap.com).
The short version
You don't need an account. The eligibility finder, the savings estimate and the document checklist work only in your browser: what you type or choose in them is not sent to us or to anyone else. The checklist asks for no personal details, and its PDF, Word and text files are made on your device. No form on this site sends what you type to our server. We run a visit counter, described below. We don't sell information.
The tools
When you choose a state in the eligibility finder on the home page, your browser loads that state's published rules from our site, the same for every visitor; your answers stay on your device. Your age, income, disability or veteran answers are never sent, stored or logged by us. Nothing is saved after you leave the page.
Information collected automatically
Cloudflare, which hosts the site, receives technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the page you request, to deliver the page and protect the site.
We run our own visit counter. It does not use cookies. It keeps a random visit identifier in your browser's local storage. For each visit it records the pages viewed, the site you came from, the time spent on each page, clicks on buttons and links (for example that a download button was clicked, not what the file contains), your IP address, your country, state and city, and your device and browser type. It never records what you type or choose in the forms. We use these records only to see how the site is used.
How long we keep information
We keep visit records for 5 years and then delete them.
If this changes
If we add other analytics, advertising or a form that sends information to us, we will update this page first and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent.
Email, children and your rights
If you email us, we use your message only to reply. This site is meant for adults and is not directed at children under 13. You can ask us what we hold about you and ask us to delete it. Visit records are not linked to your name, so we can find them only if you give us the IP address you used. Residents of states such as California may have additional rights.
